The Unaizah International Dates Season Auction, organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and supervised by the National Center for Palms and Dates, witnessed an increase in the quantities of dates supplied from Unaizah farms and its affiliated centers, following the harvest. Dates are an economic resource and sales at the Unaizah auction are brisk due to consumer confidence. Before being put up for auction, dates undergo quality and health inspections. Smart carts are used at the auction to display dates, allowing buyers to thoroughly inspect the entire quantity of dates before they enter the auction area, and designated paths for each variety make the selection process easier.
