US Analyst Recognizes Ayatollah Khamenei’s Legacy in Upholding Iranian Independence

Tehran: An American analyst has emphasized the significant intellectual and political legacies of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, focusing on Iran's national independence, sovereignty preservation, and resistance to foreign domination.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Giorgio Cafiero, CEO of Gulf State Analytics, highlighted Ayatollah Khamenei's influence in promoting resistance against external coercion. He pointed out that this concept is underpinned by strategic patience, self-reliance, and regional cooperation, which have bolstered Iran's regional and international standing.

Supporters of the Islamic Republic credit Khamenei with articulating a long-term strategy based on solidarity among regional movements opposing Western military intervention and Israel's policies. This approach has significantly shaped Tehran's foreign policy, allowing Iran to form alliances aimed at countering Western and Israeli interests.

During Khamenei's leadership from 1989 to 2026, the Axis of Resistance grew, promoting a shared strategic vision of political coordination and mutual support. This framework emphasizes regional self-determination and support for the Palestinian cause, altering regional power dynamics by increasing the costs of military confrontations with its members.

The resistance strategy has become central to Iran's national security doctrine, focusing on resilience and deterrence without strategic concessions under pressure. This approach prioritizes regional partnerships and domestic defense capabilities, allowing Tehran to maintain its political objectives despite external challenges.

Iran's supporters argue that this coordinated resistance has caused Washington and its regional allies, particularly Israel, to reconsider the risks of direct military confrontation. Ayatollah Khamenei's legacy is seen as the institutionalization of resistance as a strategic doctrine that continues to shape Iran's policies.
