US Forces Successfully Rescue Second Airman from Downed F-15 in Iran

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that US forces have successfully rescued a second airman from a downed F-15 in Iran. Describing the mission as "one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in US History," Trump shared details of the operation on Truth Social, highlighting the bravery and resilience of the rescued airman.

According to TRTworld.com, the airman was part of a two-person crew whose F-15 was brought down by Iranian air defenses. The rescue operation came after Iran launched missiles and drones targeting Israel and Kuwait, amid heightened tensions between the US and Iran. Trump had previously warned Iran with a 48-hour ultimatum to negotiate or face severe consequences.

The US special forces executed multiple operations within Iran to locate the two crew members after they ejected from their aircraft. The first pilot was rescued within hours, while the second airman, who sustained injuries, was extracted more than a day later. The mission was conducted by a specialized commando unit with significant air support, ensuring the safety of the personnel involved.

During the rescue, Iran's Revolutionary Guard targeted a US Black Hawk helicopter, injuring crew members but failing to disable the aircraft. In response, US Air Force jets conducted strikes against Iranian forces approaching the crash site to secure the area.

The successful completion of the rescue operations has seen all US personnel safely exiting Iran, marking a significant achievement for US forces amidst ongoing regional instability.
