US Secretary of State Accused of Distorting Iran’s Historical Legacy

Tehran:The US Secretary of State has been accused of making baseless comments aimed at distorting Iran's ancient history and civilization, as stated by the spokesperson for the Iranian Judiciary, Ali Kazemi. During a regular press conference, Kazemi criticized these remarks, describing them as part of cognitive warfare tactics familiar to Iranians.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Marco Rubio made false statements about Iran while in Greece, making absurd remarks about a historical war between Iran and Greece. Kazemi highlighted the symbolic significance of Greece, with its rich philosophical heritage, as a setting for such remarks, demonstrating how power devoid of ethical conduct can lead civilizations astray.

Kazemi further elaborated that the misuse of ancient Iran-Greece relations in these remarks overlooks their shared heritage and potential for dialogue and mutual respect. He emphasized that Iran's history and civilization should not be reduced to political propaganda, asserting the nation's strong cultural and historical identity.

He also criticized the US Secretary of State's claims regarding children's rights in Iran, noting the irony of such accusations from a country not committed to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Kazemi mentioned the ongoing violation of children's rights in certain Western societies.

Addressing allegations of anti-Semitism, Kazemi pointed out Iran's historical coexistence with various religious communities, including Jews, who live with dignity in Iran. He reaffirmed Iran's opposition to Zionism and support for the followers of Abrahamic religions, while condemning attacks on Jewish sites in Tehran.
