Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesperson, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, stated that the United States lacks the ability to maintain its presence in the region, highlighting Iran's effective control over the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that Iran's geographical, operational, and military capabilities position it as a key player in this strategic waterway, which has become a determining factor in the global order.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Brigadier General Mohebbi, speaking at a ceremony on Wednesday, underlined Iran's power and control over the Strait of Hormuz. He noted that the Armed Forces' capability to monitor, identify, and strike enemy equipment and vessels underscores the strategic power held by the Islamic Republic. Mohebbi explained that Iran's military and weapons capabilities are integral to managing and controlling the strait, which is a crucial factor in global geopolitics and regional conflict developments.
The spokesperson pointed out the reduced presence of US warships in the Persian Gulf. While previously around 30 to 40 US warships were deployed in the region, most are now stationed hundreds of kilometers from Iran's shores. Mohebbi attributed this shift to Iran's new long-range weapons and missiles, which have increased the cost of US military operations in the area.
Mohebbi also highlighted the United States' challenges, mentioning severe attrition in personnel and equipment, including psychological effects, which complicate its continued military presence in the region. He assured that Iran has prepared various measures to counter any threats and would deliver a proportionate and decisive response to aggression, with details to be announced at an appropriate time.
In his remarks, the spokesperson also addressed the role of the media, stating that it plays a crucial part in countering the enemy's narrative warfare and psychological operations. He emphasized that Iran's media capabilities and skilled personnel are instrumental in thwarting enemy propaganda and deceptive measures.
