Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei says the US 'war of choice' was an unlawful and unprovoked aggression aimed at collapsing the country, but instead shattered the illusion of Washington's absolute power and moral standing.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a post on his X account on Thursday, Baqaei remarked on the significance of September 3rd, which marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Rais Ali Delvari, a symbol of Iran's resistance to British imperialism. Baqaei reflected on historical events and criticized Scott Bessent, who had previously likened his understanding of Iran to childhood memories in South Carolina, where venomous snakes were eliminated with a machete and a rake.

Baqaei pointed out that Bessent misjudged the depth of Iran's history and culture by comparing it to the size of a childhood yard. He drew parallels to more than a century ago when the British Empire exerted its full power and brutality on Bushehr and Tangestan, resulting in the death of Rais Ali Delvari, yet the resistance persisted.

Baqaei emphasized that the US's 'war of choice,' intended to lead Iran to collapse, ultimately dismantled the illusion of America's absolute power and moral authority. He further remarked that history is more expansive than childhood memories, and those who position themselves as heroes, armed with simplistic tools, fail to understand the profound spirit of resistance embodied by figures like Rais Ali Delvari and the ancient Iranian civilization.
