New york: Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yv¡n Gil has publicly denounced Israel’s aggression against Iran, a situation that transpired in mid-June. Gil made these remarks during his address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly session in New York, where he also expressed his solidarity with the people of Palestine.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gil’s comments were made against the backdrop of an ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in over 65,000 Palestinian casualties since early October 2023. The Venezuelan official criticized Israel’s actions, referring specifically to a 12-day conflict imposed on Iran.
During his speech, Gil called for the lifting of the blockade on Cuba and advocated for the removal of unilateral coercive measures against countries such as Belarus, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Eritrea, Iran, and Zimbabwe. He emphasized that Venezuela has never posed a threat to any nation and reiterated Venezuela’s commitment to a global future free from colonialism and slavery, where humanity can thrive.
