Tehran: Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy Hossein Afshin has visited the headquarters of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in the capital, Tehran. Afshin’s visit coincided with National Reporter’s Day, which is observed on August 8.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during his visit, Afshin toured various desks of IRNA, engaging in discussions with journalists and photojournalists about current matters. He also met with Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the CEO of IRNA, to discuss the agency’s ongoing initiatives.

Jaberi Ansari highlighted IRNA’s commitment to advancing its professional media activities to enhance audience engagement. He noted that IRNA is transitioning its content delivery approach due to audience preferences and the increasing influence of visual media. The agency is moving from a purely textual format to a mixed text and visual format to better connect with its audience.

National Reporter’s Day is observed annually to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of IRNA correspondent Mahmoud Saremi, who was killed on August 8, 1998, along with eight members of the Iranian Consulate General in Afghanistan.
