Worshippers, Umrah performers and visitors to the Grand Mosque from the four corners of the globe gathered in the listening hall for the final qualifiers of the 44th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, to attend the recitation of the Quran by the contestants. Those interviewed lauded Saudi Arabia's commitment to caring for and preserving the Holy Quran, and its honoring those who memorize it. Umrah performer Mustafa Sabri, from Palestine, said that hosting this competition in the Grand Mosque significantly enhances the participants' spiritual experience, and commended the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for its distinguished organization of the competition. Another Umrah performer, Khalil from Indonesia, praised the Kingdom's ongoing support for people who memorize the Quran, and asked Allah Almighty to reward Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Sal man bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their efforts.
