VP: Enemy Still Bent on Overthrowing Islamic System

Tehran: First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref says the enemy has not yet abandoned the strategy of overthrowing the Islamic Republic.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref pointed to significant historical events, including the 12-Day War, the December 2025 events, and the Ramadan War, during a meeting with political parties and activists in Qom Province. He emphasized that each incident had the potential to topple any system, yet the Iranian people successfully neutralized these plots, showcasing their unwavering support for the Islamic Republic.

Aref highlighted that the enemy continues to pursue the strategy of overthrowing Iran's Islamic System, particularly by exploiting existing economic challenges to undermine the country's social capital. He noted that from the beginning of its tenure, the government faced a state of war, with the United States and the Zionist regime eventually resorting to direct military action against Iran.

Reflecting on the 12-Day War, Aref mentioned that the enemy anticipated Iran's surrender within three days. However, the steadfast resistance of the Iranian people thwarted these expectations and prevented the enemy from achieving its objectives.
