Yemen Conflict Causes $2 Trillion Damage to Saudi Arabia, Says Former US Ambassador

Doha:Chas Freeman, a former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, has stated that the damage inflicted on Saudi Arabia by Yemen's Ansarallah has been estimated at two trillion dollars. Freeman emphasized the challenges Saudi Arabia faces in this war, suggesting it is a conflict they cannot win.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Freeman also expressed concerns about the upcoming winter in Europe. He warned that Europe might face difficulties due to a lack of natural gas, which is essential for heating homes, factories, and office buildings.

Freeman further commented on the military dynamics in the Persian Gulf, implying skepticism about the possibility of bringing Iran to submission through military means. Additionally, he predicted a withdrawal of US military presence from the Persian Gulf post-war, as the host countries may no longer wish to accommodate it.
