Yemen Official Calls for Destruction of Israel as Solution to Regional Conflicts

Sana’a: A senior Yemeni official has called for intensifying support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that the real solution to regional problems lies in the destruction of the Israeli regime. In an interview with IRNA, Secretary of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council Yasser al-Houri stated that the Yemeni people are not afraid of the consequences of their operations, which have been ongoing in support of the people of Gaza since the start of the Israeli war there in early October 2023.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Yemeni people stand with all their strength and resources beside the oppressed Palestinians and the residents of Gaza, al-Houri said. He emphasized that the real solution to the ongoing problems in the West Asia region is the destruction of the Israeli regime.

Al-Houri outlined three distinct aspects of the ongoing situation concerning Palestine and Gaza. The first, he described, is the Israeli-imposed starvation faced by Gazans, who are steadfastly refusing to leave their homeland. The second aspect is the genocide that Gaza’s inhabitants are enduring, some of which is unfolding under the guise of humanitarian aid, he said. The third, and most crucial, is the scene of the heroic steadfastness and resistance of the Palestinian nation, al-Houri noted.

The comments by the Yemeni official come as the Arab country continues to support the Palestinians in Gaza through military attacks on Israel-linked ships in the Red Sea, as well as drone and missile strikes on targets inside the Israeli-occupied territories. The latest such retaliatory operation took place on Friday night. The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Yahya Saree, announced that they carried out missile and drone attacks targeting several sensitive and vital locations in the occupied territories. The Yemeni Armed Forces conducted an attack using a hypersonic missile named ‘Palestine 2’ against a sensitive target belonging to the Israeli regime in Beersheba, he said.
