Tehran: A senior member of Yemen's Ansarullah movement has stated that Martyr Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and his influence across the Muslim world were key reasons for his assassination. Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of Ansarullah's Political Bureau, shared these insights during an interview with IRNA, as he attended funeral and memorial ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, al-Bukhaiti emphasized that Ayatollah Khamenei's impact extended beyond Iran's borders, portraying him as a symbol of resistance and freedom for nations striving for independence and liberation from American and Israeli influence. He noted that Ayatollah Khamenei would continue to inspire people worldwide.

Al-Bukhaiti further elaborated that the Leader's political and ideological doctrines throughout the Muslim world, along with his persistent efforts to aid the liberation of Palestine, were significant factors leading to his assassination by the United States and Israel.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was killed in an airstrike on his office and residence in Tehran on February 28, marking the start of the recent US-Israeli war against Iran. The airstrike also claimed the lives of several of his family members, including his 14-month-old granddaughter.

Tehran is currently hosting a farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader and his family, which commenced on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday evening. This ceremony was preceded by a memorial service attended by senior officials from numerous countries on Friday. A funeral procession is scheduled to occur in the capital on Monday, July 6, with the final burial set for Thursday, July 9, in the holy city of Mashhad, northeastern Iran.
