Tehran: Former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced his support for the actions of countries worldwide in implementing paragraph 8 of Resolution 2231, which involves removing Iran’s file from the Security Council’s agenda.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zarif expressed in a post on his X account that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) urged the three European countries to demonstrate good faith efforts to resolve disputes. However, he accused these countries of instead backing military aggression aimed at destroying safeguard facilities and exerting maximum pressure on Iran’s economy.

China, Iran, Russia, and 120 members of the Non-Aligned Movement declared that the actions of the three European countries in the United Nations Security Council constituted bad faith. They confirmed that paragraph 8 of Resolution 2231, which involves the repeal of 2231 and the continued abrogation of all previous resolutions along with the termination of the Council’s proceedings, has been implemented.
