Tehran: The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Major General Amir Hatami, asserted that the US-backed Israeli assault on Iran serves as evidence of the falsehoods propagated by adversaries regarding their strategies against the Islamic Republic.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, General Hatami addressed an audience at the Army Command and Staff University, highlighting the contradiction between Iran being attacked while engaged in diplomatic negotiations and the narrative pushed by enemies that Iran’s challenges, including sanctions and the 8-year war initiated by Iraq, were a result of its governmental system. He noted Iran’s strategic significance and historical context as clear indicators of these deceptions.
General Hatami further elaborated on the history of aggression faced by Iran, emphasizing the role of the Saddam regime, supported by Western powers, in targeting Iran to destabilize its Islamic governance. He praised the Iranian people’s resilience in upholding the principles of independence and freedom, thereby thwarting external conspiracies and exploitation.
In his speech, General Hatami stressed the importance of the army utilizing lessons from the recent conflict, describing it as a rare opportunity to enhance military capabilities. He also highlighted Iran’s abundant resources, underscoring the army’s crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst ongoing threats.
He honored war veterans and martyrs, attributing Iran’s defiance against oppression and commitment to victory to the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the nation.
