Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has marked the anniversary of the Israeli regime's military aggression against Iran, carried out with US support, saying the country's resistance and determination thwarted the attackers' objectives and turned their plots into defeat.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei, in a message posted on X on the first anniversary of the June 13 aggression, shared a verse by renowned Persian poet Saeb Tabrizi, noting the aggression was launched 'under the delusion of victory' against a land 'whose steely resistance and determination to defeat its enemies is renowned throughout history.'

Baqaei highlighted the start of the military aggression by the Zionist regime, which was supported by the United States. He emphasized that Iran's steadfast will, resistance, and self-sacrifice ultimately resulted in the defeat and disgrace of an enemy that now admits its failure.

He further remarked that the events of the conflict demonstrated Iran's power, resilience, and pursuit of dignity, asserting that the nation's determination has become a lasting example in history. Baqaei also shared additional verses by Saeb Tabrizi, which celebrate self-sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering resolve in the face of adversity.

The conflict began on June 13, 2025, with Israel launching a war of aggression against Iran, marked by the assassination of Iran's top military commanders and scientists. Following retaliatory airstrikes by Iran, the United States joined the conflict days later. The war concluded with a ceasefire after 12 days.
