Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has rebuked US President Donald Trump's claim that Iranian oil pipelines would explode within three days as a result of his so-called naval blockade. '3 days in, no well exploded. We could extend to 30 and livestream the well here,' Qalibaf posted on X early on Thursday.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf criticized the kind of advice that the US administration receives from figures such as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who has been a proponent of the blockade theory. Ghalibaf remarked that this theory has contributed to the rise of oil prices to over $120 per barrel. He further suggested that if the naval blockade continues, oil prices could escalate to $140 per barrel.Ghalibaf emphasized that the issue lies in the mindset rather than the theory itself. His comments were in direct response to President Trump's assertion during a Fox News interview on April 26 that Iran would deplete its oil storage capacity in three days, leading to internal explosions of its pipelines and wells.
