Tehran: Acting Defense Minister Brigadier General Majid Ebnolreza has asserted that years of sanctions and recent military conflicts have significantly accelerated Iran's advancements in defense technology. This progress has positioned Iranian scientists and engineers among the world's leading technological powers.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ebnolreza made these remarks on Monday during a joint meeting between the Ministry of Defense and members of the Iranian Parliament's Education, Research and Technology Commission. He emphasized that the US-Israeli wars over the past year marked a pivotal shift in Iran's approach to advanced technology.

The acting minister highlighted the challenges faced by Iran's defense scientists when confronting some of the world's most sophisticated military technologies during the 12-day war in 2025 and the 40-day war this year. Despite these challenges, Ebnolreza noted that Iran emerged successfully, crediting the preparation and resilience of the Islamic Republic.

Ebnolreza attributed much of Iran's defense readiness to infrastructure established under the guidance of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He praised the contributions of young experts and knowledge-based companies in strengthening Iran's defense capabilities.

Furthermore, Ebnolreza pointed out that Iran was able to quickly restore damaged capabilities and introduced new technological and tactical innovations during the conflicts, which took their adversaries by surprise. He emphasized the importance of technological superiority as a crucial element for overcoming geographical disadvantages in military confrontations.

The acting minister also highlighted the acknowledgment by major technological powers of the scientific capabilities and rapid adaptability of Iranian experts, despite the sanctions and restrictions imposed on the country.
