Tehran: The commander of the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force has revealed plans to expand Iran's air defense systems, relying solely on domestic capabilities. This expansion involves replicating systems that proved successful during the recent 40-day conflict.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami made these remarks during a ceremony at Iranban Hospital, a facility operated by the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force. He highlighted that the expansion is a direct result of the lessons learned from the war waged by Israel and the United States on February 28.

General Elhami emphasized that the development of new systems and equipment is underway, utilizing entirely Iranian knowledge and expertise. He noted the advanced technological nature of enemy threats, necessitating modifications to some air defense equipment to effectively counter new challenges.

He also underscored the importance of Iran's scientific centers, knowledge-based companies, and the industrial sector in constantly upgrading the country's defense capabilities. The goal is to ensure Iran is prepared for a fully integrated defense against evolving threats.

Furthermore, General Elhami stated that Iran's air defense force is at '100-percent and full readiness' to protect the nation's airspace. He assured that both the Army's air defense units and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) are fully prepared, with continuous monitoring of the country's borders.
