Doha: A telephone call took place between Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Asaad Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, during which they reviewed the relations of cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments. The discussions focused on diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to reduce escalation and enhance security and stability in the region. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, during the call, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy. They discussed the importance of implementing agreements, particularly those within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This includes ensuring the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hor muz to maintain regional security, preserve existing achievements, and enhance stability. Qatar reiterated its full support for initiatives aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
