Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized US policy towards Iran, claiming Washington has engaged in warfare against Tehran on behalf of Israel and has resorted to sanctions after military actions proved ineffective.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi expressed his views by stating that after 47 years of sanctions and a conflict on Iran initiated for Israel's benefit, the United States' novel approach is to impose additional sanctions. He described this policy as detrimental to Washington's international reputation and credibility.

Araghchi further commented on the operational setbacks faced by US forces, mentioning that they had not achieved their intended goals. Consequently, they had to reposition their warships and aircraft carrier to a distance exceeding 500 miles from Iran's coastline.
