Moscow: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, has discussed bilateral ties, as well as regional and international developments. The main topic of discussion between the Russian and Iranian foreign ministers was regional security issues.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the telephone conversation, Araghchi, while referring to Iran’s initiatives and diplomatic consultations with regional countries aimed at strengthening regional peace and stability, emphasized the importance of continuing this process with the participation of all relevant parties. Lavrov also considered the formation of a regional consultation and cooperation framework as an appropriate method for resolving issues between regional countries and announced Moscow’s readiness to continue close coordination with Tehran in this regard.
