Zagreb: Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi has extended his congratulations to Iran’s national wrestling team for their victory at the 2025 World Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi emphasized the importance of the national Greco-Roman wrestling team’s decisive championship win, highlighting the addition of another golden medal to their illustrious record as a source of pride for the Iranian nation. He congratulated the team members, coaches, families, and the sports-loving public of Iran, expressing hope for continued success with even greater strength and motivation.
Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team claimed the world championship title for the second time at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships, which took place in Zagreb from September 13 to 21. Additionally, the country’s freestyle wrestling team also achieved victory, securing the championship title at the same event.
