Araghchi Departs for Oman for Nuclear Talks with US

Muscat: Heading an Iranian diplomatic delegation, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left Tehran for Muscat on Thursday night to hold nuclear talks with the United States on Friday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the departure was confirmed in a post by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei on his X account. Araghchi is set to lead the Iranian negotiating team in discussions with the United States delegation, with Oman mediating the talks.

Baghaei emphasized that the diplomatic engagement aims to achieve a fair and mutually agreeable deal on the nuclear issue. He highlighted past challenges, such as breaches of commitments and foreign interventions, as reminders of the stakes involved. Yet, he stressed Iran's commitment to diplomacy to secure national interests and regional peace.

Further, Baghaei expressed appreciation for neighboring and regional countries that have contributed to the process. He urged the American side to approach the talks with responsibility and seriousness.
