Araghchi Emphasizes Regional Priorities During Oman Visit

Muscat: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi highlighted the significance of bilateral and regional discussions during his recent visit to Oman, stressing that Iran's neighbors remain a priority.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi expressed his gratitude to his hosts in Oman through a message on his X account, acknowledging the importance of discussions on bilateral and regional issues. He emphasized the focus on ensuring safe transit for the benefit of neighboring countries and the broader international community, particularly noting the unique position of the Hormuz littoral states.

During an earlier meeting with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq, Araghchi underscored Iran's dedication to maintaining amicable relations with Oman and other southern Persian Gulf nations. He reflected on the lessons learned from the 40-day conflict against Iran, pointing out that the presence of US military forces in the region has historically led to insecurity and division.

Araghchi called for regional countries to adopt a constructive and responsible stance, advocating for the establishment of independent collective security mechanisms that operate without US interference.
