Pakistan Determined to Pursue Regional Peace Efforts: FM Ishaq Dar

Pakistan: Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed his country's determination to advance peace efforts in the region as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi concluded a brief visit to Islamabad.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ishaq Dar posted a message on social media platform X on Sunday evening, highlighting Pakistan's strong support from its citizens in hosting foreign guests and ensuring their safety. He stated, "Your support enables us to ensure the safety of our guests and to continue our efforts for peace in the region. We remain committed to these goals and are grateful for, and in need of, your continued prayers and well wishes."

Araghchi's visit to Islamabad marked his second trip within 48 hours, following discussions with officials in Muscat. During his brief stay in Pakistan, he engaged in talks with senior Pakistani officials before heading to Moscow as part of a regional diplomatic tour.

The Iranian Foreign Minister described his visit to Pakistan as very productive, acknowledging Islamabad's mediation role and its efforts to help restore regional peace. He outlined Iran's stance on establishing a practical framework to bring a permanent end to the conflict against Iran, emphasizing the uncertainty surrounding the United States' commitment to advancing diplomacy.

Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, also expressed gratitude towards the Pakistani government, military, and people for hosting the Iranian delegation. In a message on X, he conveyed appreciation for the Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their initiatives in seeking regional peace.

During his second visit, Araghchi met with Field Marshal Asim Munir, and was welcomed by Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi upon his arrival in Islamabad. Pakistan continues to position itself as a mediator between Iran and the United States, leveraging diplomatic channels and regional ties to promote dialogue, de-escalation, and stability efforts.
