The hague: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met with the director-general of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague. Araghchi held talks with Fernando Arias Gonz¡lez on the sidelines of the 30th session of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention on Tuesday.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi landed in The Hague early in the morning. He will deliver a speech at the annual meeting of the signatories to the CWC, outlining Iran’s position on the agenda items.
The Convention aims to eliminate an entire category of weapons of mass destruction by prohibiting the development, production, acquisition, stockpiling, retention, transfer or use of chemical weapons by States Parties.
