Tehran: In a telephone conversation with the new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the need for Islamic countries to respond responsibly to the violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to counter the use of force and aggression.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi congratulated Hissein Brahim Taha on his appointment as Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and wished him success in his new role. He expressed hope that the new Secretary-General would leverage the organization's capabilities to foster unity and coordination among Islamic nations in addressing the developments and challenges facing the Islamic world.

During the call, Araghchi briefed the OIC Secretary-General on the latest regional developments following the aggression by the US and the Zionist regime against Iran. He emphasized the necessity for a responsible response from Islamic nations regarding the violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the importance of countering the use of force and acts of aggression.
