Araghchi Warns Silence Over US Threats Will Fuel Regional, Global Insecurity

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has issued a stern warning that global inaction in response to US threats could escalate both regional and international insecurity. He made these remarks during a phone conversation with Kaja Kallas, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on Thursday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the two diplomats engaged in a dialogue about ongoing developments in the West Asia region, particularly focusing on the US's aggressive actions against Iran. Araghchi strongly condemned a recent attack by the US, labeling it as a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law. He emphasized that such actions have jeopardized the ceasefire, placing the responsibility for the ensuing dangerous consequences squarely on Washington's shoulders.

Araghchi further criticized the silence of UN member states concerning these actions, asserting that ongoing global inaction would inevitably lead to heightened insecurity on both a regional and international scale.
