Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has left Tehran for Saudi Arabia to attend a foreign ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the foreign ministers of OIC member states are scheduled to convene in the organization's headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, to discuss the Gaza issue. The meeting, proposed by Iran, aims to address the recent developments in Gaza, particularly in response to a plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the displacement of Gazan people.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esma'eel Baqayi had earlier stated that the meeting in Jeddah would focus on countering the U.S. plan. Baqayi also mentioned that the Arab League had proposed a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, which had been positively received by Hamas.
