Yerevan: Armenia plans to normalise relations with Azerbaijan and Trkiye under the government's 2026-2031 programme presented by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to the document published on Thursday. The announcement comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance regional cooperation and stability.

According to TRTworld.com, the Armenian government intends to continue efforts with Azerbaijan to delimit the shared border and institutionalise peace through a comprehensive peace treaty and relevant legal agreements. Additionally, the programme includes initiatives to foster contact between civil society and business communities in both countries, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations.

Plans for ties with Trkiye include establishing diplomatic relations with Ankara and opening the land border between the two nations. The document highlights the intention to launch at least two modern border crossing points, facilitating better connectivity. Furthermore, the Armenian government aims to restore and expand transport, energy, and digital infrastructure with Trkiye.
