Tehran: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has met with commanders and officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Navy, stressing the importance of increasing readiness and combat power. This meeting took place on the occasion of the 7th of Iranian Azar, marking the National Day of the Navy. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted that the primary task of the armed forces is to deter invasions, urging that the navy's activities and planning should focus on strengthening readiness and combat capabilities. He emphasized the need for Iran's adversaries to perceive the country's military prowess as a formidable force, ensuring that any potential confrontation would come with substantial costs. Ayatollah Khamenei also underscored the importance of continuing maritime missions, suggesting that the achievements and details of such missions, like those of the 86th Fleet, should be communicated to the public through artistic expressions. Dur ing the meeting, Iranian Army Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani provided a report on the navy's plans and activities across various sectors. The National Day of the Navy, observed on November 28 in the Iranian calendar, symbolizes Iran's progress in self-reliance, ensuring security and peace both regionally and globally.
