Tehran: The Islamic Republic of Iran is facing intensified political pressure and a propaganda attack from Western allies of Israel, including the United States, Britain, France, and Germany. These countries have been accused of complicity in alleged war crimes and genocide in Palestine and Lebanon and are now targeting Iran with what are described as baseless claims.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the European Union has supported the UAE’s disputed claim over three Iranian islands and has made unsubstantiated allegations of Iran’s support for Russia in the Ukraine war, resulting in sanctions against Iran. Recently, the UK, France, and Germany, backed by the US, passed a resolution against Iran at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors meeting, despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s dismissal of claims that Iran sold missiles to Russia.
The primary motivation for the US and Europe in applying pressure on Iran appears to be diverting public attention from their alle
ged role in Israel’s actions. These nations have been criticized for vetoing resolutions against Israel and not addressing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while Iran has called for peace between Moscow and Kyiv.
The Ukraine conflict, attributed to NATO’s expansion toward Russia, has security implications for Eurasian countries, including Iran and China. The stance of Western countries in arming Ukraine and Israel is contrasted with demands for Iran to halt its arms deals.
Despite the EU’s stance, some EU member state officials have expressed a desire to improve relations with Iran, opposing what they perceive as a dominant influence of France and Germany within the EU. This internal discord is seen as an opportunity for Iran to foster strategic relationships with more sympathetic EU countries.
Iran is urged to focus on developing a strategic plan to generate revenue through arms deals with allied nations and strengthen its nuclear capabilities. Additionally, efforts should be made to establish coo
perative relations with EU countries that share similar views and address sanctions impacting Iranian shipping and aviation.
