Moscow: A Russian political commentator has described the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as a symbol of national sovereignty, independence, and resistance to foreign pressure as Iran is holding farewell and funeral ceremonies for him and his family members.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Konstantin Malofeev, chairman of Russia's Tsargrad media group and entrepreneur, said the large-scale ceremonies reflected not only the mourning of the Iranian people but also the respect shown by countries, political movements, and public figures that view Iran as an example of resilience in the face of external pressure.

He said Ayatollah Khamenei's legacy extended beyond Iran, portraying him as a figure who embodied national sovereignty, historical determination, and steadfastness.

According to Malofeev, the ceremonies demonstrated that the martyred Leader's political and ideological legacy continues to unite supporters of independence and opposition to foreign domination.

The Russian commentator also said the participation of numerous foreign delegations was more than a diplomatic gesture, describing it as a sign of respect for a leader whom many advocates of national sovereignty regard as an inspiring example.

Malofeev added that Iran has maintained its independent course despite external pressure, heavy losses, and repeated attacks, arguing that the country has continued to pursue its policies with political determination.
