Baghdad: The book titled ‘Referendum in Palestine,’ which features views of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Iran’s plan to address the Palestinian issue, has been unveiled at the 26th Baghdad International Book Fair.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Arabic version of the book was unveiled on Sunday concurrently with a conference dubbed ‘Palestine in the Conscience of Humanity’ in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. The book presents the concept of a referendum as a rational, acceptable, and civilized approach to resolving the Palestinian issue.
Key themes include the necessity for non-native residents to return to their places of origin, the right to vote for all Palestinians including Muslims, Christians, and native Jews, as well as the continuation of comprehensive struggles until the Israeli occupiers submit to the will of the Palestinian people.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Seyyed Jassem Al-Jazaeri, a professor at the Al-Mustafa International University, Mohammed Al-Hafi, head of Arab and Islamic relations for the Hamas office in Iraq, Aziz Panah, Iran’s Deputy Ambassador to Iraq, Sheikh Abu Aqil Al-Kadhimi, former head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), Mohammad Akhgari, Vice President of the International Affairs of the Islamic Revolution Research and Cultural Institute, and the father of martyr Ahmed al-Muhnna and Asmahan Jumaa, one of the wounded veterans of Gaza.
Ayatollah Khamenei is the first person who has proposed holding a referendum participated by all Palestinians to determine their future political system, within the borders prior to the 1948 occupation, as a solution to the Palestinian issue. Iran’s policy stresses that the so-called two-state solution is unacceptable for resolving the Palestinian crisis, and that the entire land belongs to Palestine.
