Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has stated that providing technical and support services to aggressor parties amounts to direct involvement in conducting an illegal war, which constitutes a gross violation of international law.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei's comments were made in response to statements from Italian officials claiming that their involvement in the American-Zionist war against Iran is restricted to technical support and logistics. The officials have denied any active cooperation in the military conflict against Iran.

Baqaei elaborated on his stance through a post on his X account, labeling the Italian position as contradictory and fallacious. He argued that it serves as an attempt to shirk responsibility for being complicit in a severe internationally wrongful act. Baqaei criticized the act of publicly denying any form of assistance to aggressors while simultaneously acknowledging the provision of 'technical and logistical' support, which he argued enabled the unlawful American-Israeli aggression against Iran.

He further emphasized that offering such support constitutes a significant contribution to the execution of an illegal war, highlighting it as a blatant act of aggression and a serious breach of international law.
