According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei described the US actions as an 'Economic D-Day,' emphasizing that while some may choose to comply with US demands, this is not a situation that should be accepted as normal. He criticized the US for forcing banks, companies, ports, and governments worldwide to choose between compliance with Washington's demands or facing repercussions, stating that this issue extends beyond Iran. Baqaei argued that such actions undermine the foundational principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly the respect for sovereign equality and self-determination of all states. He asserted that no state that values its sovereignty and national interests should accept what he described as grand lawlessness and systemic bullyin g.
