Israeli Airstrikes, Artillery Shelling Target Southern Lebanon

Tehran: The Israeli regime's fighter jets and artillery have targeted areas in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese media reports. Lebanon's Al-Manar TV channel reported late on Tuesday that Israeli warplanes bombed the town of Mansouri, while Israeli artillery simultaneously shelled the same area.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the attacks come amid continued Israeli military aggression in southern Lebanon. Since March 2, the Israeli regime has launched a wide-ranging offensive against Lebanon, resulting in the deaths and injuries of Lebanese civilians and displacing more than one million people. Parts of southern Lebanon also remain under Israeli occupation.

Meanwhile, Lebanon and the Israeli regime signed a US-mediated framework agreement last month aimed at ending the conflict between the Israeli regime and Hezbollah. The agreement followed several rounds of direct negotiations between the two sides in Washington.

The deal has faced criticism over its unclear legal status and the absence of a specific timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
