Tehran: Burkina Faso's Foreign Minister, Jean Marie Karamoko Traore, has lauded the resilience and steadfastness of the Iranian nation in the face of unlawful threats and pressures. Traore, representing Burkina Faso as well as the Confederation of the three Sahel states-Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali-visited Tehran to participate in a ceremony honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. During his visit, he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Traore conveyed condolences and solidarity from the president, government, and people of Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali to Iran. He expressed his sympathies for the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and the loss of Iranian officials and citizens during the US-Israeli-imposed war. Traore commended Iran for becoming a model of dignity and independence for free nations due to its steadfastness.

In response, Araghchi expressed gratitude for the support shown by Burkina Faso. He emphasized Iran's commitment to strengthening relations with the West African nation, highlighting the importance of continuing good and fraternal ties.
