Tehran: In a meeting between Iran's Oil Minister and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Nicaragua, the two sides underlined the expansion of cooperation in the oil and energy sectors. Iran's oil minister Mohsen Paknejad met with Valdrack Ludwig Jaentschke Whitaker, Nicaragua's Foreign Minister, who has traveled to Tehran on behalf of his government to attend the ceremony honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The minister thanked the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation for participating in the farewell ceremony.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the meeting, both sides emphasized strengthening cooperation across various economic fields, including oil and energy. Paknejad also highlighted Iran's golden investment opportunities, especially in the energy field, noting that given the close relations between Iran and Nicaragua in the international arena, mutual ties have the capacity to expand further.
