Zabol: CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Hossein Jaberi-Ansari says the mission of the news organization is to reflect realities comprehensively to enable more informed decision-making.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Jaberi-Ansari differentiated between the two concepts of reality and the image constructed of reality during his remarks on Tuesday. He highlighted that constructing an image of reality, rather than merely reflecting it, is a task undertaken by most media outlets, while individuals and states are responsible for creating realities. He noted that Iran struggles with constructed images.

Jaberi-Ansari emphasized that IRNA, which he referred to as Iran's 'national' news organization, aims to mirror reality in its entirety to facilitate informed decision-making. He made these comments while speaking at the opening ceremony of IRNA's office in the Sistan region, located in the Ramshar Free Trade Industrial Zone in Zabol.

IRNA's CEO expressed concern that the perception of Sistan-and-Baluchestan in Tehran and other provinces does not align with reality. He explained that images of poverty, smuggling, terrorism, and insecurity have been repeatedly portrayed, creating stereotypes about the region, whereas these issues represent only a small part of the broader regional picture.
