China Pledges to Strengthen Ties With Iran and Seek Nuclear Solution

Beijing: China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said China attaches importance to relations with Iran and stands ready to work with Iran to deepen mutual trust and strengthen cooperation.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mao Ning posted on her X account after Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian for talks in Beijing that China places its relations with Iran on its diplomatic agenda in the Middle East and stands ready to carry forward the friendship, deepen mutual trust, and strengthen cooperation in areas. She said the China-Iran relationship has stood the test of changes in the world and maintained development, and that China will continue efforts for a solution to Iran’s nuclear issue.

Mao Ning said China will continue to uphold justice, work for a solution to the Iranian nuclear issue that accommodates the concerns of all parties, and make efforts for peace in the Middle East.

Heading a delegation, President Pezeshkian completed his visit to China on Wednesday morning after four days. He attended the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Summit and the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin as part of his schedule in China.
