Tehran: The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council has warned that continued maritime blockade and warmongering by the United States will further tighten the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. In a message released early Saturday, Mohammad-Bagher Zolghadr stated that further hostile US actions could also lead to the shutdown of other strategic waterways.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zolghadr emphasized that the ongoing US regime's maritime blockade and aggressive actions will exacerbate the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and could potentially impact other straits and chokepoints. This situation, he warned, would have significant consequences for the global economy, energy markets, and American voters.

The message from Zolghadr comes in the context of recent US escalations against Iran, following a 40-day conflict initiated by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran on February 28. This conflict prompted Iran to take control of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passageway for global oil transportation.
