Damaged Air Defense Systems Replaced, Ensuring Continued Protection

Tehran: The Army’s operations chief has announced the successful replacement and redeployment of air defense systems damaged during the recent US-Israeli conflict, thereby maintaining the security of the nation’s airspace. Rear Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi highlighted the efforts of Iranian forces in securing the skies by both utilizing existing systems and installing new ones in the wake of the attacks.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the conflict, which lasted 12 days, initially targeted Iran’s radar and air defense systems. Rear Admiral Mousavi accused the ‘criminal Zionist regime’ of launching a cowardly assault aimed at crippling Iran’s air defense capabilities. Despite sustained damage, the air defense teams worked tirelessly to replace and redeploy systems, ensuring the continued protection of the nation’s airspace.

Mousavi emphasized that the enemy’s attempts to compromise Iran’s air defenses were unsuccessful. He commended the air defense forces for their swift action, which thwarted the enemy’s objectives. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Armed Forces’ performance during the conflict demonstrated Iran’s readiness and commitment to defending against external threats.

The conflict began with an unprovoked attack by Israel on June 13, which involved targeted assassinations of military commanders and nuclear scientists, as well as air raids on residential areas that resulted in civilian casualties. The United States joined the hostilities on June 22, launching attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites. The war concluded on June 24 after Israel requested a ceasefire following Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes.
