Tehran:Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi has committed to fulfilling the needs of the Iranian Armed Forces.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Akhlaghi made these remarks during a ceremony in Tehran where he was formally introduced as the new defense minister following his successful confirmation by the Parliament.

He expressed his gratitude for the confidence shown in him by senior commanders, the president, and parliamentarians. Akhlaghi also acknowledged Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, all lawmakers, and Parliament staff for their role in his vetting and confirmation. He highlighted the significant responsibility he bears in continuing to support the Armed Forces alongside his colleagues at the Defense Ministry and the Defense Industries Organization.

Emphasizing the urgency of supplying necessary equipment to the Armed Forces, the defense minister stated that outstanding needs must be addressed more swiftly. Akhlaghi also noted that he conducted his first working meeting at the Defense Ministry immediately after receiving the vote of confidence, underscoring that given the current circumstances, even a brief pause in fulfilling duties and missions is unacceptable.
