Dorgeh and Soldouz Wetlands Serve as Key Habitats for Migratory Birds in Iran

Tehran: West Azerbaijan Province, located in northwest Iran, is home to many seasonal and permanent wetlands, some of which are internationally recognized. Two of those wetlands, called Dorgeh and Soldouz, host a variety of migratory birds from both near and distant regions every year.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Dorgeh Sangi Wetland is also known as Seiran or Seiran Goli among local residents. These wetlands are crucial for the migratory patterns of various bird species, providing essential resting and feeding grounds. The presence of these birds highlights the ecological significance of the region.

The Dorgeh and Soldouz wetlands serve as important environmental landmarks, supporting biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance.
