Mexico city: Iran's Ambassador to Mexico, Abolfazl Pasandideh, has emphasized that the Iranian people have consistently chosen independence over external domination. During a ceremony to commemorate the 'Battle of Puebla', Pasandideh criticized narratives propagated by Western media, accusing them of distorting the truth about Iran.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pasandideh argued that imperialist forces are attempting to manipulate global public perception by presenting Iran in an unfavorable light. He claimed that these narratives are based on baseless allegations, which are used to justify military actions against Iran.
Pasandideh further highlighted the roles of former US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in spearheading aggressive actions against Iran. He alleged that these actions were initiated based on unproven claims, ultimately leading to civilian casualties.
In retaliation to the joint US-Israeli aggression that commenced on January 28, 2026, Iran conducted strikes on military bases associated with the two countries in the region. Additionally, Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to vessels linked to these adversaries.
