Exclusive | Russian Presidential Aide Praises Iran’s ‘Competitive’ Technological Achievements

Moscow: An aide to the Russian president says Iran's achievements in the field of technology are at a competitive level in international markets, emphasizing that Tehran and Moscow intend to create a common market for their products in third countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in an interview with IRNA correspondent in Moscow, Andrei Fursenko, the advisor to Vladimir Putin in science and technology affairs, praised Iran's accomplishment while referring to his visit to an exhibition held on the sidelines of the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Russia.

He said that he had been participating in Iran's annual exhibitions for several years and had seen many devices and achievements there despite the country remained under crippling sanctions.

Noting that Iranian technological products are generally good and competitive, Putin's assistant said the country will excel in the international arena if all sanctions are lifted.

Fursenko continued by stating that Iran and Russia are seeking to create common markets, larger than their own, and can jointly enter the markets of third countries within the framework of their planned future cooperation.

Referring to the existing cooperation in the scientific domain, he said the two countries are working jointly on good projects for development in specific areas, which are not only to replace import of products, but to achieve a leading role in various fields of technology.

In response to a question on bilateral partnership, Fursenko underscored that Iran and Russia would accomplish the desired goals more easily and more successfully given they work together.
