Tehran: Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has dismissed US President Donald Trump's recent military threats, warning that a battle with the Islamic Republic will be an unforgettable lesson for Trump.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, General Mousavi responded to Trump's war rhetoric against Iran during an event on Sunday, criticizing the remarks of a president who claims to represent a superpower as unworthy and reckless. The top commander questioned why Trump speaks of negotiations if he intends to go to war, directly addressing the US president's renewed military threats under the guise of Iran's nuclear program.
General Mousavi further cautioned that engaging in conflict with Iran would lead to consequences that would deter Trump from making similar threats globally. As Iran and US negotiators recently resumed talks on nuclear and sanctions removal issues in Oman, Trump threatened Iran with strikes if a deal was not reached between Tehran and Washington.
Iran has consistently warned the United States and its regional allies of serious repercussions for any military provocations, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic is prepared to deliver more crushing defeats to any aggressors.
