Tel Aviv: The families of Israeli captives held in Gaza have accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of neglecting opportunities for a prisoner swap deal. They claim he is prolonging the conflict in Gaza to maintain his political position, thereby risking the lives of Israeli soldiers and prisoners. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the families held a demonstration outside Israeli President Isaac Herzog's residence in Tel Aviv, expressing their frustrations. They cited US President Joe Biden's remarks, asserting that Netanyahu does not plan to cease the ongoing war in Gaza, but instead is intent on the complete destruction of Hamas. In a statement, the families argued that instead of focusing on ending the war and securing the return of Israeli captives, the Israeli military is expanding its attacks, occupying more territories, and constructing military facilities. The statement further accused hardliners within Netanyahu's cabinet of seeking to establish settlements in the Gaza Strip and exert control over the region. The families criticized Netanyahu for waging what they described as an aimless war in Gaza, and for opposing any alternative governance to Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
